Labrador Watch dog?

My Labrador isn't aggressive to people but she doesn't seem very approachable when she gets worried. She wouldn't bite anybody but does anybody else's Lab act like that when someone strange comes near them? Labs are apparently supposed to love people but mine barks at people a lot and loves certain people based off their energy.
